SPS – Academic Policy, Process and Pedagogy

The school follows the NEP (National Education Policy) and believes that children learn best when they are happy. The goal is to let children enjoy, play, laugh, explore, and create — no matter where they come from.

The teaching style is child-friendly and based on real-life experiences. Children get to do activities related to what they learn in class. Different styles of teaching are used so that every type of learner gets the best experience.

Teaching – Learning Pedagogy (Pre-Primary Wing)

1. Reggio Emilia Method

In this method, children are encouraged to explore and discover things on their own. Since young children are naturally curious, this approach lets them learn by looking at the world around them. It builds creativity, curiosity, and social skills, and helps children find their own place in the world. School becomes a happy place to learn.

2. The Play Way Method

Children love to play, and this method uses play as a tool for learning. Teachers use fun and innovative games to teach things like alphabets, colours, numbers, and more. This makes learning exciting and keeps children interested for a long time.

3. The Waldorf Method

This method focuses on developing skills beyond just academics. It combines studies with art, music, physical activities, storytelling, and more. It helps bring out the imaginative side of children. Reading and writing from textbooks are introduced later, once the child is ready.

4. The Bank Street Method

This is similar to the Play Way method but uses a different set of activities. Children are encouraged to work on puzzles, build with blocks, make things out of clay, and more. These activities develop imagination and logical thinking. Montessori tools and equipment play an important role in this type of learning.

5. The Montessori Method

This method was created by Maria Montessori, a doctor who was also a pioneer in modern education. It focuses on the overall development of young children — mentally, socially, and emotionally. Children learn through their senses and real experiences, which makes learning more meaningful and long-lasting.

Bag Free Day (Saturday)

As suggested by CBSE, every Saturday is a Bag Free Day. On this day, children do not bring heavy school bags. Instead, learning happens through fun, thematic, and play-based activities.
